TYPO3 is an open source content management system designed for use with websites and intranets. If that sounds a little confusing, hopefully the next couple of pages will make everything clear.
For normal users it provides a friendly and intuitive interface where even people with limited computer knowledge can easily manage and update their website or intranet. Put simply, if you can use a word processing package such as Microsoft Word™ then you are already most of the way toward being able to change or update your website when you need to.

The content management aspects of TYPO3 mean that the web developer is no longer bogged down with implementing and updating content. In addition to this, because content is kept separately from the design, major changes and even entire site redesigns can be carried out much more quickly and efficiently with little or no disruption, reusing content that has already been created.
